Insights and analysis with a technical twist and some topics that are a bit out there. Enjoy...
I received this email today from Google Analytics and it grabbed my attention as the words used in the email are directly related to my website's domain name. These terms, key and insight have been growing in popularity over the last few years and are heavily used on many other websites. Consequently, traffic to KeyInsight.com has grown significantly from all over the world. I am always surprised how far reaching a great domain name can be.
I used Google Analytics awhile back and it's great for most business media sourcing purposes. I dropped it for a few reasons. There was no way to see the IP addresses of my visitors. Even where a large portion of visitors route though a VPN, I still want to know what their IP address was . Having their code embedded into the site also slowed the page load time. If there is any latency on their end, your page pays for it. I didn't want to share my visitor information either. I also like to see everyone who's visiting. These issues may have changed now and probably have improved, but I haven't looked back, I wrote my own analytics tool.
With a platform like DNNSoftwware.com, formerly DotNetNuke, there is a lot of tools at a developers disposal that permit virtually anything you would like to do. I can't say enough good things about DNNSoftware or DNNDev's XMod Pro add-on module. Look at some of the 2 million+ businesses that build with these products. It is a very powerful and scalable combination.
June is one of the slower months for internet traffic, people are getting outside, taking vacations and generally away from the screen. I reset my logs late on the 7th and with the bots, crawlers and other site monitoring visiting apps out of the count, at the time of this post, afternoon of 24th: 3,968 unique visitors looking at 30,381 pages. That's not a lot of traffic in comparison to the Amazons out there, but just out of the gate launching content a month ago, it's off to a very good start. It'll bubble up. The domain name makes a huge difference, relevant content drives it home.
KeyInsight.com could be available for the right offer.
